Asha lives a wealthy lifestyle in Bombay with her widowed dad, who would like her to get married to Dr. Prakash. While vacationing in Kashmir, she meets with a young man, Rajan, and both fall in love with each other. When she returns home and attends Dr. Prakash's birthday party, she gets a pleasant surprise when she finds out that Rajan is Prakash's friend. Rajan introduces Asha to his mom, while Asha introduces Rajan to her dad, and both parents approve of their match. Before they can get engaged, Rajan had promised his late father that he would obtain a degree from Oxford University, and be back after one year. He decides to travel by boat, which meets with an accident and there are no survivors. A shocked and devastated Asha finds out that Rajan's death has killed her dad, and she throws herself in her work as a doctor, working side by side with Prakash. Rahul Khanna (Vinay Anand) and Sonia Chopra (Pooja Batra) are in love, they seek the blessings of their elders, Mahendra Pratap Khanna (Kiran Kumar), Mr. Chopra (Sadashiv Amrapurkar) and Mrs. Chopra (Kunika), and get married. During their honeymoon, Sonia, who is very ambitious, tells Rahul that he should start his own business, away from his father, and stand on his own feet. Rahul does so, and starts a modelling agency. His immediate rival is Sanjeev Verma (Faraaz Khan), who is very successful.

City-based Ashok, who works as a Salesman in a Toy Store, has always dreamed of marrying village-based Ashoo. He is a close friend with his co-worker, Amjad, whose marriage is being finalized with Shabnam. Ashok goes to the village to meet and get Ashoo to marry him but finds she has been abducted by his brother, Bhagat, who had earlier killed her brother, Bhagwan. Ashok manages to rescue her, and they flee Bhagat and his goons in order to try and reach Amjad's wedding ceremony. Amjad is ready to even postpone the wedding in order to give Ashok enough time to make it - but nothing will prepare him for the shock when he gets the news that the train Ashok and Ashoo were traveling in had met with an accident - with very few survivors.

Seenu (Nitin) is a new admit into a college. Nandini (Neha) goes to the same college. Seenu is from a middle class family and Nandini is a rich girl. Nandini is the only daughter of Gowri Shankar (Prakash Raj), who is a land mafia don. Gowri Shankar suspects them to be lovers after he finds them dancing for freshers celebration at college. Seenu gets beaten up. Irritated by this, Seenu challenges about winning the love of Nandini. After several attempts, she falls in love with him. They elope and get married when Gowri Shankar tries to separate them. The story takes several turns before the movie ends in a happy note.

Ram Chandra is a Tamilian who lives in a shanty hut in Bombay's Dharavi, along with his mom and a younger sister. He dream is to attend school, which he does so, after his sister is loaned out to a beggar to collect alms, but she is unable to withstand hunger for long and passes away. Ram leaves home and subsequently works hard, studies, becomes rich and constructs several colleges to accommodate needy students. One such student he accommodates is a new arrival from Allahabad, Raja, and he arranges his admission in Ram Chandra College for Business Management along with full board and shelter. He also helps Raja sort out his personal problems, including his romance with a young woman he met at the Cyber Café and then at Bandra Railway Station.
